ECG or the poor man’s angiogram is generally used to look into cardiac electrical abnormalities. However, it has been found to be useful in various other abnormalities like in electrolyte disorders, pulmonary embolism, CNS diseases, oesophageal disorders, hypothermia, and drug-related and other conditions. Thus, knowledge of the characteristic changes in various conditions can be a matter of life and death for the patient.
