In 2007, Ozaki et al. conducted the first aortic valve neocuspidation utilizing glutaraldehyde-treated autologous pericardium. Because long-term anticoagulation is not necessary, this procedure has become an option to tissue and mechanical valves. This approach has proven to be a viable alternative to bio prosthetic and mechanical valves, both of which have obvious drawbacks. Digital databases were searched from 2014 to 2022 for the phrases “autologous pericardium”, “aortic valve replacement”, and “aortic valve reconstruction”. Mortality, freedom from surgery, thromboembolic and endocarditis events, and echocardiography findings were all analysed in this study. Non-cardiac causes of death and reoperation were virtually nonexistent. Very few cases of thromboembolic or endocarditis have been reported in this study. A reduced average peak pressure grad..
